We understand that there may be instances where students enrolled at an affiliated school are unable to participate in a district trial.
The good news is that we have a policy in place that allows eligible students to request an exemption from attending the trial.
If you apply for an exemption from attending a district trial, and it is approved, then we will consider you for selection in our team. Our consideration will be based on various sporting criteria and your previous experience in playing sport.
What you need to know about exemptions
If your exemption is approved, it doesn’t mean you will be automatically picked for our team in that sport.
Our expert panel looks at a variety of factors, including the skills, backgrounds, and performances of all participants at the district sport trial, and they will weigh these against your exemption application details. Don’t forget to showcase your sporting skills and history in your sporting résumé that you submit with your application!
How to apply for an exemption
- Simply go to your school PE teachers and request an exemption application form.
- Fill out the form and make sure that you sign it.
- Gather all the necessary supporting documents together. Remember to include a sporting résumé detailing your sporting performances and playing history.
- Take the exemption application form and all the supporting documents to your school PE teacher or school sport coordinator and ask them to email all the documents to our district administration team.
- Our district administration team must get your application and supporting documents 24 hours before the start of the relevant district trial event.
