Multi-class athlete information
The regional trial is a representative pathway for multi-class athletes. Athletes wishing to compete at the state championship must participate at the regional trial.
Interested athletes must contact their school sport coordinator for the Multi-class cross country student nomination form and event information.
There are no regional qualifying times for multi-class events. However, athletes must be capable of running 2km (10-12 years) or 3km (13-19 years) over uneven terrain.
To be selected in our regional team, athletes must be classified by a national disability sporting organisation, such as Sport Inclusion Australia or Athletics Australia.
Athletes who do not have an official classification can still take part in our regional trial but will not be eligible for selection in our regional team.
If a multi-class athlete competes at the regional trial in an able-bodied event and has also submitted a multi-class student nomination form, then their time from the able-bodied event will be used for multi-class selections to the state championship.
Athletes who meet the requirements will receive a regional team invitation.
Multi-class athletes will be identified with a specific-coloured wristband.
Visually impaired athletes are able to run with a guide runner. Please note:
T11 athletes must have a guide runner.
T12 and T13 athletes may elect to have a guide runner.
