Sunshine Coast School Sport will use the AusTriathlon All Schools Triathlon & Aquathlon event to select our regional teams for 2027.

Who can take part in this trial?
You must be turning 10-18 years of age in 2026 (born from 2016 – 2008).
Multi-class athletes
Multi-class athletes may register for and compete in either the multi-class aquathlon or multi-class triathlon event.
To be eligible to compete, multi-class athletes must hold a current classification with the relevant classifying body.

Registration
You must register with AusTriathlon to be considered for selection in the 2026 Sunshine Coast School Sport team. https://www.triathlon.org.au/qld/allschoolstriathlon/
Online registration closes midnight Wednesday 07 October 2026.
Information relating to the All Schools Triathlon & Aquathlon, including entry fees, event schedule, course distances, venue details, course maps and registration information, is available on the AusTriathlon website.
Competitors will receive a confirmation email upon successful registration.

Regional team selection
To be considered for the Triathlon team, athletes must compete in the triathlon event.
To be considered for the Aquathlon team, athletes must compete in the aquathlon event.
Athletes may be selected for either the Triathlon team OR the Aquathlon team, but not both.

Regional team size
Primary Aquathlon: Maximum of 10 male and 10 female athletes.
Junior Aquathlon: Maximum of 6 male and 6 female athletes.
Intermediate Aquathlon: Maximum of 6 male and 6 female athletes.
Senior Aquathlon: Maximum of 6 male and 6 female athletes.
Multi-class Aquathlon: Maximum of 3 male and 3 female athletes per age group.
Triathlon: Maximum of 10 male and 10 female athletes per age group.
Multi-class Triathlon: Maximum of 3 male and 3 female athletes per age group.

Note:
At the QRSS state championships in 2027, athletes will compete in either the Triathlon event, OR the Aquathlon event. Participation in both events is not permitted.
Athletes selected for the Triathlon team will compete in both an individual triathlon race and the regional team relay.
Athletes selected for the Aquathlon team will compete only in the individual aquathlon event.
