Who can take part in this trial?

Students born 2008 – 2013

You must be selected in a district team prior to the regional trial.

Cost

• $25.00 – Please pay by Wednesday 27 May. 

• Go to our regional online shop information to learn how to pay.  

• Click on the 'Pay now Levies and apparel' button.
  

• Click 'Regional Trials' and follow the prompts.

• Bring a copy of your payment receipt to the regional trial as proof of payment.

Consent forms

• Complete our regional trial consent booklet and make sure that it is signed by a parent or carer and authorised school delegate.
• Hand in your consent booklet to your district team manager prior to participating at the regional trial.
• You cannot take part in this trial if you have not returned your consent booklet.

Surf Safety

• You must have completed either a Surf Survival Certificate or a Surf Bronze Medallion course.

Sport equipment

• You must wear appropriate surf wear and supply your own board/s.

• If you need strapping you must bring your own tape. All strapping must be applied before the trial starts. Strapping is the responsibility of the individual player.

Food and drinks

• You must bring your own snacks, lunch and drinks.

Sun safety

• Bring your own sunscreen and put it on several times during the day.

• Wear a hat and stay in shaded areas when you are not playing.

Hydration

Bring your own water bottle and hydrate regularly throughout the day.

First aid

A first aid medic will be attending this trial.

MR Shield Trial

• A trial for the MR Shield will occur concurrently during Round 1 of the Individual Trials on an additional bank.  The format will follow the guidelines set out by Surfing Australia and the running order of divisions will be offset to the running order of the Individual Regional Trials.
  
  Nomination process

• A school may nominate a team to trial for the MR shield event if they have two surfers from their school who qualify within a division in their district team.

• In cases where schools have only a single surfer qualify in a Junior division and Senior division, the school may nominate a team to compete in the Senior division.

• Schools may nominate only one team per division.

• Winners of each MR division will represent the Sunshine Coast Region at the state championship regardless if they have qualified for the regional team as part of the Individual Trials.
