Funding Assistance

 

There are a number of funding assistance programs available to financially assist team members and their families to attend state or national championships.   Some of these organisations provide funding for state and national championships while others only provide funding for national and international championships.  For specific information, please visit the websites listed below.

Aspirations4Kids in sport

Aspirations4Kids in Sport is an organisation committed to assisting eligible school students to participate in sport who are facing current financial hardship and who wish to participate in Queensland School Sport events.

Eligible school students means:

  • Families of students facing financial hardship
  • Families of students facing financial hardship due to remote issues
  • Students with disabilities or chronic illness

This organisation funds eligible Queensland School Sport team members aged 10-19 years in all 21 sports approved by Queensland School Sport in all 12 regional representative school sport regions. 

Queensland school principals are invited to submit applications for any eligible students at their school who are participating in Queensland School Sport sporting events.  For more information, visit the Aspirations4kids in sport website.




QUEENSLAND SPORT AND RECREATION

Sport and Recreation operate the "Young Athlete Travel Subsidy" which aims to foster the development of young athletes and support elite athlete pathways by providing financial assistance to help alleviate the costs associated with attending state, national and international championships.  Officials (such as coaches, referees and scorers) attending eligible events can also apply for assistance if they meet the eligibility criteria.  Applications for this funding must be submitted after attending the event.  For further information please visit the Sport and Recreation website.

AUSTRALIAN SPORTS COMMISSION

The "Local Sporting Champions" program is an Australian Sports Commission initiative designed to provide financial assistance for young people ages 12-18 towards the cost of travel, accommodation, uniforms or equipment when competing, coaching or officiating at an official national sporting organisation (NSO) endorsed state, national or international sporting championships or a School Sport Australia state or national championship.  Application for this funding must be submitted prior to attending an event.  For further information please visit the Australian Sports Commission website.

SUNSHINE COAST REGIONAL COUNCIL

The Sunshine Coast Regional Council offer individual development grants to support residents who are performing, competing or presenting at national or international competitions and events.  Applications for this funding must be submitted prior to attending an event.  For further information please visit the Sunshine Coast Region Council website.

MORETON BAY REGIONAL COUNCIL

The Moreton Bay Regional Council, through their "Individual Achievement Fund (Youth Achievement)" provide support to young people who have been invited to represent their sport at a high profile national or international sporting event.  The contribution is provided to offset travel and event related expenses.  Applications for this funding must be submitted prior to attending an event.  For further information please visit the Moreton Bay Regional Council website.
